Welcome to the Collaborative Web 2.0 Tools for the Middle School English Language Arts Teacher Training Wiki.

There are many tools that are available for educators to utilize within the classroom that not only operate within the "cloud" but also enable teachers to transform the way English Language Arts curriculum is delivered to students. In addition, the use of various Web 2.0 tools enables students to critically think about learning concepts, collaborate, create, and engage in 21st Century Skills.

This workshop will be delivered over the course of eight days. During the eight days, we will be exploring various Web 2.0 tools that will transform the way you teach your students and the way your students learn in the classroom. The workshop will be extremely hands-on and the products you create or complete within the workshop will be transferrable into your own classroom.

"Technological change is not additive; it's ecological. A new technology does not merely add something; it changes everything." ~Neil Postman

This workshop is intended for the Middle School English Language Arts teacher in grades 6-8.

About Your Trainer:

My name is Chrissie Flanagan and I have been a teacher for the last eight years within a public K-8 district located in Northern New Jersey. Over the course of my eight years, I have taught special education in grades 6-8 in various content areas, and more recently as a full-time on-level sixth grade English Language Arts teacher. It is during this time that I found a passion for integrating technology into my classroom through the use of various Web 2.0 tools and Problem-Based Learning experiences.
